An update on how companies listed on the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) had performed as at 11.30am today.
Olympia Capital Holdings (OCH), Kenya Orchards Limited (ORCH),Total Kenya Limited (TOTL), The Co-operative Bank of Kenya Limited (COOP), and KenolKobil Limited (KENO)are the companies whose share price had appreciated the most. Olympia capital yesterday shed 69.94% to end the day at a volume weighted average price of KES 2.60. It was at 11.00 am trading at KES 2.85, in contrast to Friday's price of KES 8.65.
Trans-century Limited (TCL), Unga Group Limited (UNGA), Car and General (Kenya) Limited (C&G), Eveready East Africa (EVRD), and Sameer Africa Limited (FIRE) had declined the most in share price. Sameer Africa Limited formerly known as Firestone East Africa are the makers of Yana tyres.

Safaricom Limited (SCOM) , Kenya Commercial Bank (KCB), Mumias Sugar Company (MSC), British American Investments - Britam - (BRIT) and Barclays Bank of Kenya (BBK) were the five most traded shares.
Asks are prices quoted by prospective sellers while bids are prices quoted by prospective buyers. Pending bids/asks are those that are yet to get a match. They (pending bid/asks) can be used as an indicator of the direction the price of a share will take.
Kenya Orchards has pending bids but no pending asks
Limuru Tea Company Limited (LIMT) had asks but no corresponding bids. Of interest to note is one of its asks was at KES 990.oo. BAT Kenya was the first company to hit KES 1000, last Friday.
