Longhorn Kenya was at 11.50am the largest gainer at the NSE. This was a continuation of last Friday's trend, where the share rose 50% in a single day. Other shares (counters) up were Mumius Sugar Limited, Olympia Capital Holdings, Centum Investments and insurance firm Britam.
The top losers were paints maker Crown Berger, battery maker Eveready, and cigarette maker BAT. All three are manufacturing companies. NIC bank and Liberty Kenya Limited, the insurance firm formerly known as CFC Life.
Bids are prices quoted by prospective buyers while asks are prices quoted by prospective sellers. Pending bids or asks are those that are yet to get a match.
Britam had over 275,000 shares in pending bids vis a vis 67,000 shares in pending asks. Centum another of the top gainers today had over 100,000 shares in pending bids with no corresponding pending asks.
Safaricom Kenya limited had over 6.7 million shares in pending bids compared to 540,000 shares in pending asks.
