2,900 Kenyans to Benefit from Temporary IEBC Jobs

2,900 unemployed Kenyans will benefit from IEBC's voter registration jobs. The Independent Electoral and Bounderies Commission Announced 2,900 vacancies on July 16th 2012 for voter registration clerks, as the country gears to the March 4th 2013 elections. IEBC will require 2 biometric voter registration(BVR) clerks  in each 0f the 1450 county assembly wards across the 47 counties. Applicants for this positions will be exepected to be computer literate.  In a statement, the IEBC said, “the clerks will ensure accurate entry of details in the voter registers using BVR equipment.”

Registration is expected to be carried out for a period of two months. The commission will also add other two months in which the voters' roll will be inspected.

The clerks will be expected by the commission to perform the following duties:

  • Register voters at the county assembly wards/poling stations within the stipulated period
  • Ensure accurate entry of voter details in the voters register using BVR equipment
  • Ensure safe custody of registration material and BVR equipments during the registration exercise
  • Perform any other relevant duties as assigned by the Commission

This short term contract will earn successful applicants Ksh1000 for each day worked.
