At the close of trading at the NSE yesterday, the NSE 20-share index stood at 3,651.27 while the All-share index stood at 78.62. The total number of shares traded stood at 9.744 million in 1141 deals. The equity turnover stood at KES 203.302 million.
In today’s trading we will be observing the following counters:
- Longhorn Kenya Limited: the newest counter at the NSE gained 8.99% to close at KES 20 per share. The share has gained 6 shillings since it began trading on the 30th of May. This is a gain of 42.8%! We will continue observing this counter to trend the performance of the share.
- Kenya Airways: today the national carrier announced the results of its rights issue. KES 14.487 billion, this represents a 70% subscription contrary to earlier speculation that the rights issue was oversubscribed. In lieu of this, the share price is bound to respond to this news. We will observe the counter to see what effect this will have on the share.
- Williamson Tea Kenya: the share has been performing well this week and we will observe it to see the level at which it will close this week.
