In today’s trading the following five counters recorded the most activity:

  • Safaricom Limited: the telecommunication company had 17.7 million shares exchanging hands in 125 trades. The counter closed unmoved at KES 3.45 per share.
  • Equity Bank: the bank recorded 1.93 million shares exchanging hands in 73 trades. The counter closed 1.25% up at KES 22.50 as compared to KES 22.25 yesterday.
  • Mumias Sugar Company Limited: the sugar company closed unmoved at KES 6.55 recording 1.537 million shares being exchanged in 138 trades.
  • Co-operative Bank of Kenya: the bank recorded 1.380 million shares exchanging hands in 123 trades. This seems to be in response of the loss the counter observed in yesterday’s trading. Investors seem to be selling the share to protect themselves from further decline. The counter closed 2.56% down at KES 11.40 per share as compared to KES 11.70 yesterday.
  • Kenya Commercial Bank: the bank had 1.228 million shares exchanging hands to close 1.05% up at KES 23.50 as  compared to KES 23.25 per share.
