Continental Reinsurance Gets Licence For Kenyan Office

Pan-African insurance company Continental Reinsurance today announced its newly licensed Kenya office that lays the path for the future of the company in the insurance industry in East Africa.

Continental Reinsurance’s expansion marks the next step in its commitment to promises to offer its East African clients stability, longevity, innovation, and a more tailored service that is responsive to the growing insurance market. Despite the continuing economic crisis in Europe, the Kenyan insurance market has blossomed, growing at a rate of nearly 15% per annum over the past 7 years.

Continental Reinsurance first began operations in 1987and was listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange in 2007. The Insurance Regulatory Authority (IRA) last week released three new sets of insurance guidelines that are aimed at enhancing efficiency and transparency in the insurance sector. The new guidelines address among other issues market conduct for insurance investigators  and claim management procedures.
