Nokia East Africa has extended the current Nokia Asha family range with two new mobile phones – the Nokia Asha 202 and Nokia Asha 305 for the local market. This is aimed at building up Nokia’s commitment to connect consumers to smart mobile phones.
The introduction of these two mobile phones is part of Nokia’s “Don’t Break the Beat” campaign that centres on a competition to find the definitive rapper, also known as a cypher, among the youth in East Africa.
The Nokia Asha 202 is a dual-SIM phone which uses Easy-Swap technology. It has a 2.4 touch-screen and alphanumeric keypad. Its multimedia experience encompasses a high performing loudspeaker, enhanced stereo FM radio and ringtone tuning. The Nokia Asha 202 is currently available in Kenya at an estimated retail price of KES 6,250.
The Nokia Asha 305 is the first full touch screen Asha device with a major update of the Nokia browser which uses cloud technology to reduce data usage by up to 90%. The phone also comes with an improved battery life, and an advanced gaming experience. As per the press release sent to us, the Nokia Asha 305 will be available in Kenya towards the end of July at an estimated retail price of KES 7,700.
