Safaricom has introduced a new service that will allow subscribers to top up data bundles via scratch card.  The scratch cards, which are already retailing in shops according to the Safaricom Customer Care desk, range from Ksh 5 for 4 MB to Ksh 11499 for 25GB of data.

To top up data bundles from the scratch card

1. Dial *544*
2. Enter the 16 digit PIN
3. Enter #
4. Press OK

The new service will also allow third party top up for bundles. For this

1. Dial *544*
2. Enter the third party phone number
3. Enter the 16 digit PIN
4. Enter #
5. Press OK

The various scratch cards, the corresponding data bundles and validity periods are indicated in this table below

The previous bundle purchase processes still remain unaltered i.e *450#, *544# and www.safaricom.com/bundles.

Once you exhaust the bundles purchased, you will be charged the Safaricom published out of bundle rate (currently, Kshs. 8/- per MB).
