Eveready East Africa Ltd will be electing a new director on Thursday 9^th August 2012. According to a notice posted by the Company’s Secretary Mr. Issa Timamy on July 7^th 2012, the elections are bound to be conducted in Menengai Hall, Merica Hotel in Nakuru when the company will be holding its 45^th Annual General meeting.

Mr. Paul Scott is bound to retire on rotation but is nevertheless offering himself for re-election in accordance with article 91 of the Company’s Articles of Association which render him eligible. Ms. Catherine Ngahu who was elected on July 1, 2012 to fill a casual vacancy is also offering herself for election as well. It has an extensive network of associates and distributors whose support for its business in East Africa forms a far-reaching network to ensure that the company meets the power and shaving requirements of people all over East Africa. So far the company has 16 domestic distributors whilst 3 are export distributors.

East Africa Batteries limited is the company’s major shareholder, 73,806,929 (35.15% of holdings). Centum Investment Company Limited possesses 36,553,575 (17.42% holdings) shares with Energizer International Inc. bearing 22,061, 559 shares (10.51% holdings).

The Eveready East Africa Ltd plant is based in Nakuru and is one of the largest battery factories in Africa with a capacity of over 200 million pakapower batteries annually and a workforce of close to 250 people. The company’s main brands include Eveready, Energizer and Schick which are recognized world over for their distinct quality.
