INDICES

The NSE 20 Share Index has today gained a further 0.02 percent to 3,801.03 points from 3,800.23 points yesterday while the All Share Index dropped 0.07 percent to 83.16 points from 83.22 points yesterday.

HIGHEST VOLUMES

Equity Bank was today the most traded share with 1.68 million shares traded up from 1.16 million shares yesterday while second was Safaricom with 1.30 million shares traded. Third was Kenya Power with 981,600 shares traded while fourth was KCB with 818,800 shares. The fifth most traded share was Scangroup with 594,100 shares across the counter.

COUNTER WATCHLIST

  • B.O.C Kenya – The supplier of industrial and medical gases gained 1 shilling in today’s trading to close at KES 111 per share. B.O.C has posted a 57 percent growth in six-month pre-tax profit to 118.37 million shillings from 75.3 million in the same period last year. Today was the share’s first gain since Thursday last week.
  • NIC Bank – The bank’s shares today lost 1 shilling to close at KES 34.75 per share. The NIC Rights Issue is scheduled to begin the 27th of this month. Pesatalk will exclusively cover the rights issue, so stay with us for more on this.
  • Eaagads – Shares in the coffee grower topped yesterday’s high to close at a new high since November 2010 at KES 55 per share.
