Yu Mobile will this morning, 12 September 2012, launch “yuCover” a free life and disability insurance cover for yuMobile pre-pay subscribers.

As reported in the Business Daily, Yu Mobile subscribers who spend KES 100 will qualify for a cover of KES 10,000, those spending KES 250 will qualify for a KES 20,000 cover, KES 500 will get you KES 40,000 cover and KES 1,000 will earn you KES 60,000 cover.

yuCover is a partnership between Yu Mobile, MicroEnsure and Jubilee Insurance. As posted in the Business Daily, Jubilee will be the underwriter of the cover while MicroEnsure will provide training in cover that underlines the growth convergence between mobile phone operators and financial services companies.
