You can now send, receive and withdraw money using Airtel Money from any one of 465 Posta outlets across Kenya. This comes after Airtel Kenya and Posta Kenya signed a service agreement on Tuesday.

Availing Airtel Money services at Posta outlets across Kenya will widen the Airtel Money network across the country.

Statistics from the Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK) indicate that the third quarter of the financial year 2011/2012 saw a 4.5 percent drop in the number of active mobile money transfer agents across the country, a decline CCK attributes to Airtel Kenya which was the only operator that reported a decrease in the number of agents.

Posta Kenya incorporation of Airtel money will diversify the services it currently offers, which in the recent past have been deteriorating. Statistics from CCK show that period between January and March 2012 saw a 28.6 percent decline in the number of letters sent compared to the same quarter of the previous year.

As posted in the Daily Nation, Postmaster-General, Dr. Enock Kinara said, “Our partnership will serve to increase the range of our products to increase the range of our products.”
