HIGHEST VOLUMES
Safaricom shares were for a fourth consecutive day the most traded with 5.60 million shares down from 30.44 million shares yesterday while Barclays Bank were second most traded with 3.23 million shares. KCB were third most traded with 3.11 million shares from 10.08 million yesterday while fourth were Equity Bank with 2.24 million across the counter. Kenya Power shares were the fifth most traded shares with 1.33 million shares.
COUNTER WATCH
- KenolKobil – The shares closed today at yesterday’s price of KES 15.00 per share. The share appears to have fully recovered from last week’s 3.8 billion half year loss announcement. In the same breath, news of another court hurdle that will delay the oil marketer’s sale to Swiss based Puma Energy appears to have had no affected the share today.
- NIC Bank – The shares gained 25 cents to close at KES 33.50. We gave attempted to demystify what would happen if you took part in the rights issue; read that here. Today was the last day of the NIC Rights Issue where shareholders had until 3 pm this afternoon to take up their rights to the new NIC shares.
- Kapchorua Tea – The shares closed at yesterday’s price of KES 117 which is their lowest in nearly four months. Kapchorua Tea is involved in the cultivation and manufacturing of tea.
