M-Changa, Because You Need a Fundraising App As Well

What if you could just conduct a Harambee through your phone? How about if such a mobile platform was to enhance easy mobilization and management of fundraising with greater transparency? One Kyai Mullei has launched M-Changa which will enable you conveniently raise funds from your mobile phone.

The app will enable you to send a uniform message to your prospective contributors, who will from there begin receiving progressive alerts throughout the whole fundraiser. According to an article on Capital Business, the contributions for this platform will only be made via M-Pesa and Airtel Money. The article further says that this platform is secured from fraudsters who would want to use the platform and get money from Kenyans illegally.

According to the article, registering with the platform will require the you-the fundraiser, to send an SMS to 2231 starting with #MC and the name of the occasion. Then you will follow the instructions prompt to enter your name and description of your fundraiser. Finally, you will receive a fundraiser invite message to forward to all the people you want involved.

The Terms and Conditions

For a limited time all registered fundraisers will automatically be able to receive a credit of KES 50 for use in promoting their campaigns. They will also be able to withdraw  funds at any time provided their balance is at least KES 100. 

Normal Mobile Network tariffs apply for all withdrawals and contributions, while your fundraiser may have a maximum of 3 treasurers who approve withdrawals.
