Sep 24 Morning Bell: Yesterday’s Loser National Bank Now Top Gainer At The NSE

National Bank of Kenya which closed at KES 26.00 yesterday was as at 11.00 am today the top gainer at the NSE, having appreciated  4.81% to trade at KES 27.25. Total Kenya limited was the second appreciating 2.95% from yesterday's closing price. TPS Serena and Jubilee Insurance have risen by 2.86% and  2.33% respectively. Express Kenya which had risen 5% yesterday is up by an additional 2.14%.

Equity bank, Centum Investments and CIC Insurance dropped by 9%, 7.69% and 5.04% respectively. Britam Investments, Olympia capital and Cooperative bank had shed  4.05%, 3.96% and 3.41% respectively. Equity bank and Centum Investments have had recent price rallies.  Centum has risen to a 12 month high of KES 84.00 and  Equity last week rose past the KES 200 billion  market capitalization mark. This makes their current decline attributable to selling by investors who wish to profit from price gains.

Equity Bank had the most pending asks. (Asks are prices quoted by prospective sellers). It had at the time no corresponding bids. (Bids are prices quoted by prospective buyers). Whereas Liberty Kenya limited had the most pending bids.
