Safaricom's unlimited data plan is to be discontinued with effect from midnight, 30th April 2012.  This comes after Safaricom CEO, Bob Collymore expressed concern over "misuse" of the service by subscribers.

Customers who use the service can still buy the unlimited data bundles until midnight, 30th April and enjoy the full use of the purchased bundles for the entire duration of its validity.

The pricing of the unlimited data plan is as follows:

1. Unlimited internet for one day (24 hours) billed at KES 200
2. Unlimited internet for three days (72 hours) billed at KES 500
3. Unlimited internet for one week (7 days) billed at KES 1,000
4. Unlimited internet for one month (30 days) billed at KES 3,000

All other Safaricom data bundles will remain unaffected.
