Nairobi Water Company has announced that the water shortage caused by damage on a supply pipe from Sasuma Dam will take two weeks to repair, and that normal water supply will therefore resume in about two weeks.

Areas worst hit by the water shortage are those solely supplied with water from Sasuma Dam, these include:

• Lower and Upper Kabete
• Karen
• Spring Valley
• Lavington
• Kitusuru

Residents of the above areas can contact Nairobi Water Company it they need truck water supply. 10,000 liters track costs KES 2,500.

Nairobi Water has further stated that it will ration water for longer hours in the remaining areas affected by the water shortage.
