Good News! Abacus is starting a Personal Finance Management Programme in partnership with Strathmore Institute of Mathematical Sciences called Abacus Money Academy.

The Abacus Money Academy is a program that educates you on how to set financial goals, discover your current financial position and craft and implement a plan that will get you to where you want to be, allowing you to focus on the things that you love. It also provides a guide on how to invest in the different sectors of the market and what to look out for while at it.

Why should you enroll for the class?

By joining us, you will be able to;

• Identify your financial position - What you own vs what you owe, what you make vs what you spend.
• Set reasonable and achievable goals.
• Understand the tools for achieving these goals.
• Implement a plan –through automation and/or partnering.
• Review and make adjustments accordingly.

We implement training through the following practices;

1. Class-based instructor-led sessions & Online Course

Our class-based sessions have borrowed Harvard Business School’s‘ Case Study Methodology’ in which the students study other people’s situations and advice accordingly. The course also has an online self-study module, with text, videos, audio and quizzes that the student can use to pace their study or refresh what they learned.

2. Self-study Manual

Our manuals allow the participants to take their own notes, draw up their financial plans over the duration of the program, and can be used as a reference point or financial diary.

3. Tajiri Board Game

This is the most interactive way to understand personal finance, from income to budgeting, to navigating life’s changes and making investments.

The board game simulates the situations people go through in life, including job loss, pay increases, and unexpected expenses. The objective of the game is to generate passive income that exceeds one’s expenses.

Classes run for only 4 Saturdays –thus, it is primarily a 4 weeks program from 9.30 am to 4.30 pm whereby lunch is provided.

The Course Fee is KES 29,000/= inclusive of VAT. If you are interested, make sure that you book your spot promptly as classes have a maximum of 20 students each.
