Following the recent withdrawal of Safaricom’s unlimited SMS plan, Safaricom has now introduced a third SMS bundle plan you can subscribe to. You can subscribe to 500 on-net SMS messages daily at the rate of KES 20 per day.
This new SMS plan is in addition to the two existing SMS bundle plans from Safaricom. These include the KES 10 plan where subscribers get 200 SMSes and a KES 5 plan where subscribers get 20 SMSes.

The validity of each SMS bundle is 24 hours. Once you exhaust your bundle before expiry of the bundle validity period, you will be charged an out-of-bundle rate of KES 1 per SMS. Bundles are only applicable for Safaricom to Safaricom SMSes.
By the way, the reason Safaricom gave for withdrawing the unlimited SMS plan is the service was being used to send huge volumes of SPAM texts to other subscribers, or at least that’s what they said.
