Imagine having to file your tax returns irrespective of whether you earn an income or not. Do you even know what filing your tax return entails?
I am pretty sure most people have no clue. A quick spot check in the office revealed that most of the guys here know nothing about filling tax returns.
I wonder how the situation would be, when the proposal by KRA to have anyone above 21 years file their tax return is approved. I predict there will be blonde moments, severe scratching of the head as guys try to unravel the mystery surrounding filling tax returns.
Turning 22 would then become the age of filing tax returns. Guys would tweet, “Filling tax return! Wtf?’. A Facebook page titled “I hate filling my taxes” would be created. Perhaps Bunge la Mwananchi would rise up in arms protesting against it.
