futaa.com has revealed that the international friendly match between Kenya’s Harambee Stars and South Africa’s Bafana Bafana played on Tuesday 16 October 2012 raised KES 3.92 million. A total of 25,000 terrace tickets were available, each retailing at KES 300 while another 3,000 for the VIP were availed at KES 1,000.
However, this is a comparative drop from the
KES 6.7 million gathered at the
Moi international Sports centre Kasarani,
Saturday 2 June 2012, when the national side played Malawi. On February 29th 2012, another
KES 4.5 million was raised when the team hosted Togo. At that time 1,393 VIP tickets and 11,265 tickets for terraces retailing at
KES 1,000 and
KES 300 were sold by the Family Bank on behalf of FKF.
However, previous data from our East African Counter parts Uganda shows that they are doing much better. Last year, a total of
KES 36, 065, 628 an equivalent of
UShs 1 billion was realised when Harambee stars played Uganda on Saturday 8 October 2011 at
Nelson Mandela Stadium.
