A survey carried out by Deloitte & Touche ('Best Companies To Work For Survey 2012') has revealed that East Africa Breweries Limited is so far the best company you can work for. Kenya Women Finance Trust (KWFT), a micro-finance firm came second. Nation Media Group was third. The survey came as a response to the growing need to understand the motivators and expectations of employees. The survey involved workers in these organisations responding on job satisfaction and the work environment in relation to career progression.

The study was carried out on selected 16 firms of which APA Insurance, Old Mutual, British American Tobacco, Total Kenya, Hacco Tiger Ltd, Deloitte, Bidco, Barclays Bank and Pan African Life did well.

The survey also notes that the biggest reason for employee turnover in most organisations was due bad work relations and poor communication between workers and their line managers. David Conradie, a director at Deloitte Consultancy SA said there is need for employers in Kenya to have more focus on personal welfare of their employees, which will improve their employees' productivity and loyalty to the company.
