Mumias the Biggest Mover at NSE
Mumias Sugar had 2.325 million shares traded yesterday to take the top-mover slot. The share price has risen 40% in the last 3 months.
Closing Bell – 18 June 2012
In what was a low trading day at the Nairobi Securities Exchange, there were 2.325 million Mumias Sugar shares traded. The share was the kmost active. Safaricom came second with 1.823 million shares traded while Equity Bank had 1.387 million shares traded.
NSE Set for New Market Segment
We may soon hear of a new segment on the Nairobi Securities Exchange, the "Growth Enterprise Market Segment" where small and medium size companies can sell their shares for new capital for growth and development.
NSE Opens to Subdued Trading Activity
The Nairobi Securities Exchange opened this morning to subdued trading. As of 1:09PM today, Mumias Sugar was the most traded share with 498,500 shares traded. The biggest gainer thus far has been Pan Africa Insurance, up 9.66% from KES 36.25 to KES 39.75.
