The NSE 20 Share Index has today climbed 0.2 percent to settle at 3,831.01 points from 3,823.49 points yesterday while the All Share Index remains at 83.86 points like yesterday.
HIGHEST VOLUMES
Safaricom was the most traded share for a second day today with 10.29 million shares traded from 36.75 million shares yesterday while Equity Bank was second with 5.44 million shares from 7.88 million yesterday. Eveready was third most traded with 2.11 million shares traded while KCB was fourth with 1.52 million shares. Fifth was Mumias Sugar with 1.13 million shares traded up from 838,500 shares yesterday.
COUNTER WATCHLIST
- AccessKenya Group – The share closed at KES 4.90 similar to yesterday despite the announcement of a 15 percent rise in pre-tax profit to 87.9 million shillings for the six months to June this year.
- Standard Chartered Bank – The share today gained 7 shillings to close at KES 198 per share after it announced a half-year pre-tax profit of 6.47 billion shillings that affirmed it as the third most profitable bank in Kenya after Equity and KCB for the six months to June.
- Co-operative Bank – One day after the bank announced a 22% percent growth in half-year profit to 4.87 billion shillings, the share gained 5 cents to close at KES 11.10.
