INDICES
The NSE 20 Share Index today climbed 0.09 percent today to 3,804.54 points from 3,801.03 points yesterday while the All Share Index also edged up, climbing 0.53 percent to 83.60 points from 83.16 points yesterday.
HIGHEST VOLUMES
Co-operative Bank was today the most traded share with 1.12 million shares traded while was second was Safaricom with 791,600 shares down from 1.30 million shares yesterday. Third was CIC Insurance with 750,900 shares traded while fourth was Mumias Sugar with 650,000 shares. Kenya Re was the fifth most traded share today with 389,200 shares.
COUNTER WATCH
- Nation Media Group – The share gained 2 shillings in yesterday’s high to close at a new high of KES 187 per share since 2008.
- Sasini – The share lost 5 cents today to KES 11.20. It appeared that the share was on a recovery path after an 8 percent drop to KES 11.00 from KES 11.95 that happened on Tuesday last week following a profit warning for 2011 earnings issued two weeks ago. Read more on the profit warning here.
- Scangroup – The advertiser’s shares dropped from their high of KES 59.50 to KES 56.00 per share. The former was the share’s highest price since 2010 and followed the company’s announcement of an 11 percent growth in half-year earnings to 578.4 million shillings.
