Safaricom was today’s session’s biggest mover with 34.22 million shares changing hands within the six-hour period. The share price increased by 5 cents to close at Ksh 3.25. Mumias Sugar Company had 3,443,600 shares changing hands to close the session up 2% at Ksh 5.10. The Access Kenya Group counter had 2,094,900 shares traded to close 5 cents up Ksh 4.35, up from yesterday’s close of KES 4.30. The Mumias Sugar board yesterday appointed Mr. Peter Kebati the new MD after Mr. Evans Kidero stepped down. Read more on that story here. There were 1,597,200 Cooperative Bank shares traded in today’s session.

It is worth noting that today was the last day to buy the Kenya Airways rights and in light of this 5,452,300 KQ rights shares were sold.
