There were 72.087 million shares traded today at the Nairobi Securities Exchange with an equity turnover of KES 494.45 million. The NSE 20-share index closed 24.78 (0.58%) points up at 3,650.85 points. The NSE closed with a total market capitalization of KES 795.79 billion.

Safaricom was the biggest mover of the day with 63.018 million shares traded in the day. The share price however remained fixed at KES 3.25, the same as it closed yesterday. There were 1.519 Equity bank shares traded in the session in 73 bids. Like Safaricom, the share remained at its opening price, KES 21, the same as it closed yesterday. There were 1.170 million Barclays Bank shares trading in 55 bids with the share closing 20 cents up (1.56%) to close the day at KES 13. The KCB counter had 933,800 shares exchanged in the day in 79 bids. The share price however remained unmoved at KES 22.75. There were 867,400 AccessKenya shares traded in 28 bids. The share appreciated 35 cents (7.22%) to close at KES 5.20. Longhorn Kenya Limited was the biggest gainer of the day, the recently-listed share gained KES 1.60 (9.91%) to close at KES 17.75 with just 600 shares traded in 5 bids.
