The NSE 20 share index lost 17.43 points (0.48%) to close at 3,635.86 points. Equity turnover at the bourse topped KES 529 million with a little over 13 million shares trading in the Nairobi Securities Exchange today. market capitalization stood at KES 822 billion shillings.

KCB was the day's biggest movers with 3.95 million shares to close at KES 23, the same as yesterday's close. Access Kenya was one of the day's biggest gainers, up 50 cents to close at KES 5.75 from yesterday's close of KES 5.25, a 9.52% gain on the share. Safaricom had 2.96 million shares trading in the session, closing 10 cents up at KES 3.35 from the previous KES 3.25. East African Breweries Limited had 1.38 million shares trading in the day, the share price appreciating a shilling (0.46%). There were 729,3000 Mumias Sugar Company shares traded today, the share shaving off 5 cents (0.87%) to close at KES 5.70.
