The NSE 20 Share Index today dropped by 0.34 points to settle at 3,815.10 points from 3,815.44 points yesterday while the All Share Index gained 0.22 percent to 83.64 points from 83.46 points yesterday.
HIGHEST VOLUMES
Equity Bank was the most traded share today with 5.12 million shares up from 1.16 million shares yesterday while second was Safaricom with 2.14 million shares traded up from 1.16 million yesterday. Third was Cooperative Bank with 1.40 million shares traded while fourth was Mumias Sugar with 1.36 million shares moving across the counter. Kenya Re-Insurance was fifth most traded with 831,900 shares down from 913,500 shares yesterday.
COUNTER WATCHLIST
- ScanGroup – The share lost 50 cents in today’s trading to close at KES 57.00 on the day that it announced an 11 percent pre-tax profit gain to 578.4 million shillings and 9 percent income growth to 404.6 million shillings for the six months to June this year. Today’s price remains one of the highest closing prices of the share this year.
- Kenya Re-Insurance Corporation – The re-insurer’s share today gained for a fourth consecutive day, adding 5 cents to close at KES 10.95. The share continues to edge closer toward this year’s highest of just over 11 shillings per share.
- Eaagads – After seven days of consecutive gains at the stock market that made it one of the most gaining shares last week, Eaagads fell 6.42 percent today to close at KES 51.00 from KES 54.50 yesterday.
