Diversified financial services firm Britam and Equity Group Holdings Ltd (EGHL) have ended their near-two decade relationship, just five months after Britam completed its buyout of Equity’s stake in mortgage lender, Housing Finance (HF). James Mwangi resigned from Britam’s board just two months after Benson Wairegi declined to offer himself for re-election to the Equity Group board.
There was no way from a point of governance that Mwangi would have continued to sit on Britam’s board. I retired from Equity’s board and Mwangi retired from our board,” said Wairegi.

Flame Tree Group Holdings closed the day as the worst performing share registering a drop of 7.06%. The counter closed with a share price of KES 7.90 which was a KES 0.60 drop in share price.
Safaricom Limited was the most traded share in the exchange today. It traded 64,507,500 shares which was 84.9% of all trades in the market.
