The NSE All-Share Index today lost 0.16 points to close at 82.31 points from yesterday’s close of 82.47 points while the NSE 20-Share Index closed down 1.98 points at 3,793.32 points from yesterday’s 3,795.30 points.
HIGHEST VOLUMES
Uchumi today had the highest number of shares traded with 2.14 million shares moving across the counter. Kenya Commercial Bank was second with 2.08 million shares traded. Similar to yesterday, Co-operative Bank was third most traded with 1.09 million more shares traded than yesterday’s 746,500 shares. Equity Bank, the most traded share yesterday was fourth most traded today, with 1.78 million shares moving across the counter. Safaricom was the fifth most traded share today, trading 355,300 more than yesterday’s 555,000 shares.
COUNTER WATCHLIST
- Housing Finance Co. – The share gained for the fifth day gaining five cents to close at KES 15.25 from KES 15.20 yesterday.
- Kenya Airways – The airline today dropped for a third consecutive day losing 0.7% to close at KES 14.10 from KES 14.20 yesterday. It was reported in today’s Business Daily that the airline faces the risk of an imminent pilot strike over the National carrier’s intentions to hire expatriate pilots to support its expansion drive.
- Nation Media Group – The share today closed with no change at KES 177 similar to yesterday. Yesterday the media house reached a four year high closing at KES 175.
- Olympia Capital Holdings – The share was a top loser today after gaining for the past two consecutive days to close down 3.85% at KES 3.75 today.
