Coast Bus Marks 55 Years

If you frequently travel to and from Mombasa, you've probably used Coast Bus at one time or the other. This year Coast Bus celebrates its 55th anniversary having served Kenya before independence to date.

Founded in 1957, Coast Bus is said to have ferried over 40 million passengers over the last 55 years and driven over 400 million kilometers which in terms of distance would mean driving around the world 10,416 times.

According to Coast Bus, the above statistics mean that on average about 95 percent of Kenyans have at least once traveled by Coast Bus.

With 55 years of existence, Coast Bus boosts of having won:

Coast Bus prides it’s self on luxury, safety and affordability. Customers enjoy cookies, chocolates, sweets and soda on-board plus free Wi-Fi connectivity on-board select buses. Some of the buses are fitted with toilets and air-conditioning. Well, if the image below is anything to go by, that's a large improvement on their early days.
