Ecobank opens Karen Branch

Karen, Nairobi is now home to Ecobank’s 24th branch after the bank opened a new branch at the Karen Office Park. Residents and the Business Community within Karen and its environs can now access a wide range of the Ecobank’s products and services such as credit to support their businesses and personal goals, current and savings accounts, money transfers as well as investment banking and advisory services.

Tony Okpanachi, Managing Director Ecobank said, “We continue with our planned expansion this year while focusing on moving closer to our customers and the potential target market that remains untapped due to non-access to financial services.

“Our growing network is a clear testimony to Ecobank’s contribution to Africa’s economic and financial integration and development. Therefore, we are committed to reaching out to more people as we support our customers achieve their goals”. The MD noted that the bank was keen on living its “brand promise of being the right partner to its customers by providing them with convenient, reliable and accessible banking services. He said the bank would set up more branches within the course of the year.”

Ecobank recently rolled out four new savings products namely; Privilege account, Baraka account, Unity account and Elimu account. They target high networth individuals, religious institutions, organized groups and learning institutions respectively. The new products attract some of the highest interest rates on savings in the industry going up to 11 per cent.

Ecobank first came to Kenya in June 2008 through acquisition of the former East Africa Building Society (EABS) and has rapidly grown its branch network across the country to 24 spread across Nairobi, Mombasa, Kisumu, Kitale, Kisii, Busia, Malindi, Eldoret, Karatina, Thika, Nakuru, Nyeri and Meru.
