Ecobank has announced that it will be deploying several Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) in strategic locations across the country before the end of the year. Speaking during the awarding of winners of Ecobank’s Angukia hao promotion, Ecobank Kenya Managing Director Tony Okpanachi said this will help the bank reach out its services closer to its customers.
“This is to improve our product offering and enhance customer service in addition to setting up new branches across the country.” Okpanachi said. Ecobank currently has 24 branches in the country and plans to roll out 4 more branches countrywide. Okpanachi says that the bank plans to have increased its customer base to over 200,000 by the end of the year. Ecobank also plans to roll out agency banking services in a bid to increase its customer reach and increase deposits.
Angukia Hao na Ecobank promotion that saw a couple win a 3 bedroom house worth KES 5 Million, was aimed at raising the bank’s deposits and Okpanachi says the bank met all its objectives for the promotion. Ecobank accumulated customer deposits in excess of KES 3 billion from the three month long promotional campaign.Participation and entry into the promotion required one to deposit a minimum of KES 2,000 into their savings account/current account or open an account with the same amount.
