It’s that time of the month when you are broke and the line between you and poverty is slowly closing in on you. To make ends meet you are obligated to cut on costs by all means possible, but this should not be excuse for you to have a boring weekend, there’s still a possibility of having super fun at the fraction of what you usually spend on the weekends.
Having fun over the weekend doesn’t necessarily have to be an expensive affair. Simply learn to appreciate the little things in life and enjoy living in the moment. Spend less this weekend by keeping yourself busy with one or all of these inexpensive activities.
Host a game night. There’s nothing better than spending the weekend in the company of your close friends, why don’t you have them over for a night of playing card or board games and if you guys are into drinking, then you could all chip in some cash to buy a bottle of your favourite drink to make the night even more enjoyable. Plus there’s nothing better than drinking within a controlled environment.
Throw a B.Y.O.E Party. This stands for Bring Your Own Everything. Encourage your guests to bring food and drinks to share and you could have fun at a fraction of what you would have spent if you had taken the responsibility of catering for all of the expenses. Plus if you are lucky enough, you’d have food left over to last you a week, thus cut on your weekly meals expenses.
Instead of going out tonight you could plan a romantic, candle light dinner for your spouse or loved one. Romance need not be expensive, it’s the thought that counts plus this would be your opportunity to bond with him or her. Cooking a meal at home instead of buying one at a restaurant tends to be healthier and cheaper. Try out a new recipe or whip up an old favorite to impress that special someone.
Host a movie marathon, invite friends over for a movie marathon night and they could each bring a movie.
