First Relationship Centre Opened in Rift Valley

As part of yuMobile’s efforts to bring services closer to customers, yuMobile has officially opened its first Customer Service Relationship Center in Rift Valley.

The Customer Service Relationship Center located at the new Westside Mall in Nakuru CBD will provide a range of services, including installation of yuMobile data settings, postpaid activation, bill payments, selling of prepaid lines, airtime, modems and handsets. Customers visiting the centre will also have access to a free-calls booth, a service that allows yuMobile subscribers to make free yu to yu calls, free phone charging and free downloads at the data experience corner.

Speaking during the launch of the relationship centre, yuMobile Chief Financial Officer, Sundar Pattabiraman said: “We are focusing on strengthening our presence around the country by opening Customer Relationship Centres in major towns, this being the fourth since the roll out last year.”

The latest Communications Commission of Kenya (CCK) 3rd Quarter Report revealed that yuMobile posted the highest growth of 14.5 per cent, representing growth of 324,284 new subscriptions. A growth CCK attributes to increased promotional and special offers targeting the youth. As of 31st March 2012, yuMobile had 2,554,258 subscribers.

Mr. Pattabiraman further added: “In terms of market share, yuMobile has gained the largest market share of 0.8 per cent points against other market players thus a clear indication that Kenyans have confidence in us.”

Essar Telecom Kenya is Kenya’s fourth mobile cellular network under the brand “yuMobile”, launched in December, 2008.  yuMobile achieved the fastest network rollout speed in the region, by achieving countrywide coverage in approximately 10 months from launch.
