The Kenya shilling fell against 6 of the 7 currencies under our observation, with importers paying more for international goods over the last couple of days. The Kenya shilling shrunk 0.3233% against the US dollar making imports slightly more exoensive. This on the backdrop of fuel pump-price increases. The shilling slipped 0.5339% and 0.0107% versus the Sterling Pound and the SA Rand respectively. The shilling however breathed easy against the Euro, the Kenya shilling strengthening 0.0457%.
Against the Uganda shilling, the Kenya shilling shaved off 0.4837% of its value, with one Kenya shilling exchanging for 29.3996 Uganda Shillings. The Kenya shilling continued its slip-and-slide against the Tanzania shilling and the Rwanda Franc, dropping 0.0691% and 0.3194% respectively yesterday.
The Kenya shilling has now dropped for the sixth xonsecutive day versus the dollar, the longest downward streak in 9 months against the greenback.
