The Kenya Shilling had a bruising in yesterday’s currency trades. The Kenya Shilling lost value against most major currencies under our observation, losing 0.292% against the US dollar to continue slipping against the greenback this week. The Kenya Shilling also lost ground against the Euro and the SA Rand, down 0.493% and 0.976% respectively. The Kenya Shilling however made some progress versus the Sterling Pound, up 0.05% with 1 Sterling Pound trading for a mean of KES 134.2753.
The Kenya Shilling also lost ground against the currencies of our East African neighbours, down 0707% and 0.155% against the Uganda Shilling and the Tanzania Shilling respectively. The Rwanda Franc gained against the Kenya Shilling, our local currency losing 1.193% versus the Rwandan currency.
