The Kenya shilling strengthened against major world currencies, gaining 0.012%, 0.015% and 1.795% against the US Dollar, the Euro and the South African Rand repsectively. The Kenya shilling traded at KES 134.8059 against the Sterling Pound, the exact same as on Friday. Importers thereby had some respite, paying slightly less for imports while exporters had their gains marginally wiped off in yesterday’s trading. The Kenya shilling maintained the momentum against regional currencies, gaining 0.0125% against the Uganda shilling and 0.0126% against the Tanzania shilling. The Rwanda Franc however stood its ground against the Kenya shilling, the shilling slipping 0.7285% versus the Rwanda Franc.
