Kenya’s overall inflation rate for the month of August 2012 has dropped to 6.09 per cent, down from 7.74 per cent in July 2012.
The last time Kenya’s inflation rate stood this low was in January 2011 when it posted at 5.42 per cent.
Unconfirmed reports state that this drop is attributed to drop in August’s Consumer Price Index. The Food & Nonalcoholic drinks index has dropped by 1.09 per cent due to fall in food item prices.
