Late last week, Pesatalk published an article stating that Nairobi Java House was set to open up a branch in Homa Bay. Despite sources from the CEO’s office confirming these rumours, the coffee chain’s Twitter page begs to differ. A tweet from @Nairobi_Java states the following:
Our focus is to cement our brand presence in major towns, we’ll extend our Coffee Culture to NKR & Kisumu (not HB) by midyear cc @pesatalk
— Nairobi Java House (@Nairobi_Java) January 14, 2013
Prior to the coffee house’s online update, the Nairobi Java Communication’s Department had redirected Pesatalk to their CEO’s office line. During a brief interview, the source stated that plans were underway to open up new branches, citing Homa Bay as one of the first.
This tweet, however, confirms that the brand does have plans for expansion and their market research has led them all the way to Nyanza and Rift Valley Province. Nairobi Java House – though the name seems redundant now- already has several outlets in Nairobi and one in Mombasa.
