KCB Bank has extended banking hours in several of its branches in Nairobi and one in Kisumu. KCB has announced that it will extend banking hours for the Nairobi branches to 10 hours a day. This, the bank says, will give its customers who have busy day schedules time to bank early in the morning or after office working hours. Initially, the bank had long working hours for its Sarit and Village market branches only.
Banking hours for the banks branches at Prestige Plaza, Village Market and Sarit Center in Nairobi will now open at 8.30am and close business at 6.30pm on weekdays. Initially the bank opened its doors for business at 9 am and closed at 4pm on week days. The bank has extended weekend working hours to between 8.30am and 4pm from 9am to 12pm.
The bank's Kimathi Street and Tom Mboya street branchs in Nairobi will open their doors for business at 8.30am and close at 6pm and on weekdays and 8.30am to 4pm on weekends.
The bank's customers in Kisumu will also get more banking time as the United Mall branch in Kisumu will also be open from 8.30am to 6.30pm on weekdays and 8.3am to 4pm on weekends.
KCB is East Africa’s largest bank in terms of total assets at KES 349 billion (as at June ,2012) with a total of branches at 226 in East Africa. The bank lowered its base lending rate to 22% in June, 2012 down from 24% with the mortgage lending rate at 19%.
