Keeping a Debt Book at Your Local Shop?

Living on the credit side of life is in most cases a dreaded thing for many people. But it sometimes is inevitable. Sometimes, you have to live in the negative figures to make things work for you.

There is this common thing in lower mid-level households where you keep a book in the estate shop or at the mama mboga. The book is usually a credit record for convenience and is usually operated by the house helps you leave at home. The house helps are allowed to take what is ‘needed’ in the house and record in the book then the shopkeeper ‘invoices’ you at the end of the month.

Have you ever considered how much it costs you to keep such an arrangement? For convenience sake, it would be wise to keep it, but just how much do you follow up to see that the acquisitions booked are actually items ‘needed’ in your household. Sometimes, the house help could take up items for their own convenience or worse still, depending on your level of negligence, the shopkeeper could easily earn from your pocket.

Whenever you make such arrangements, if you must, be sure it is going to be for your convenience. This could help you avoid shock when you sit down one day to account for how much the shop book account has cost you. It might not be a convenience after all.
