In a similar move to that of The Nairobi City Council, the Municipal Council of Mombasa has extended the land rates waiver period for another 14 days.

The Municipal Council of Mombasa has extended, what it dubbed: Operation Lipa Madeni Last Waiver of Land Rates Penalties – “Idd-Ul-Fitr Special”, for upto 22^nd August 2012.

Mombasa Town Clerk Tubmum Otieno, through a press release, warned that those who fail to take advantage of this window and clear all outstanding arrears by the said date will lead to vigorous litigation resulting to public auction for recovery of principle debt plus all accumulated interests.

The Municiple Council of Mombasa stated that this was the very last extension waiver period.
