Unlike in the past when your PostPaid electricity account was updated in 48 hours of payment via M-Pesa, you account will now be updated in approximately one hour.
M-Pesa has also introduced new PostPaid electricity payment charges.
To pay your electricity bill via M-PESA:
- Select “Pay Bill” from the M-Pesa menu
- Enter the Kenya Power business number 888888
- Enter the full Kenya Power account number that you would like to pay for
- Enter the amount you wish to pay (between KSh 50 to KSh 70,000)
- Enter your M-Pesa PIN
- Confirm that all the details are correct and press Ok.
- You will receive a confirmation SMS from M-Pesa immediately. Your Kenya Power account will be updated within 1 hour.
