Safaricom have launched an online customer care service dubbed Safaricom Self Care. It lets you monitor your phone’s billing history, how you accumulated and spent your bonga points, accessing your M-Pesa transaction dating back to three months, plus quick and easy access of customer care.
All you have to do is register online for the service and an online account linked to your Safaricom number will be created, giving you access to all your mobile transactions.
Let's put this in context:
- Billing history: This gives you access to your Safaricom billing history dating back to three months. You will see when you topped up, how much you topped up and how the top up was spent. In addition to this you get history of phone calls made through your phone, duration of those calls and billing for each respective call. For instance someone took your phone and made a call without your knowledge, you will get to see the history of that particular call when it was made and how much billed, isn’t that cool? You also get to view the history of all your SMS transactions.
- History of Your M-Pesa transactions: You now have easy and convenient access to all your M-Pesa transactions dating back to three months. This includes:
- Access to information pertaining to deposits made on you M-Pesa account,
- Withdrawals and where each withdrawals was done,
- Who sent you money and who you sent money to,
- All purchases made through your M-Pesa account, e.g airtime bought through your M-Pesa account or bills paid through your M-Pesa account
- Track your Bonga Points: You can see how your Bonga Points are accumulating by viewing, online, how many bonga points you get per day. In addition to this you get to view your Bonga Points redemption history plus transfer or redeem your points online.
In addition to this, you also get access to Safaricom online live chat support where you get to chat with a Safaricom customer care online and make online requests. An interesting feature would be, the Phone Bar menu that lets you download an application to block your phone that has been stolen, plus get to see a list of phones your SIM card has been used on.
