Nairobi Java House plans to open up a new outlet in Homa Bay later this year. The self proclaimed country’s finest hand-roasted coffee supplier has announced that it will be extending its branch network to the lake side town.
Speaking to Pesatalk during an interview on Thursday morning, sources from the Java Sales and Marketing Team said that plans were underway but an actual date for the establishment had not yet been confirmed.
“It was supposed to be opened mid this year,” said one contact who was speaking on behalf of the CEO’s office. She noted that the branch would begin operating by the end of 2013.
Sifting through society’s riff raff like a fine coffee filter, the establishment has managed to lock horns with the likes of like Dorman’s and Savannah coffee houses.
So far, the tea and coffee chain has established 14 branches across Nairobi and one in Mombasa. Dorman’s has 7 branches in Nairobi and one in Mombasa while Savannah has at least 4 branches across the capital.
For the past 13 years, Java has supplied what is rumored to be the country’s best locally-roasted coffee. The chain has since promised to deliver a product which boasts of maximum quality and freshness.
With a target market of middle class and upper middle class clients, Java has proven to be one of the fastest rising coffee houses in and around the city.
No doubt this new outlet will add to the exuberant lifestyle of the Blackberry-brandishing natives of Nyanza Province. With a packet of Espresso going for KES 1200 and a cup of black coffee selling at no less than KES 120, not everyone can afford to enjoy their services. Nevertheless, Java intends to capitalize on a market base that is recognized for its lavish lifestyle and insatiable spending habits.
Stereotypes aside, this may be the beginning of a countrywide expansion. The Java team has been reluctant to admit anything concerning further expansion, stating instead, that their brand is “still growing”.
