How to book an online appointment to Huduma centre

The Ministry of Gender and Public Service on Friday, April 28, 2023 launched a simplified process for booking services at Huduma Centres.

In a circular, Public Service Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa explained that the previous long processes had been shortened to ensure efficiency.

In particular, the Ministry asked individuals seeking to get new national identification cards to first book appointments the Huduma Centre website.

Those seeking new identification cards were advised to consider using their mobile phones to directly book an appointment, after which they will receive a notification to proceed to the next stage.

Whether you would like a Police Clearance, to replace your ID, or to access NHIF services, you must reserve your space online.

Here is a simple step-by-step process for booking your Huduma Centre appointment.

In the event that you have not registered on the Huduma Centre website, the first step is registration.

Visit appointment.hudumakenya.go.ke on your mobile phone browser or computer

You will see a Book Appointment button on the Top Right-hand side. Click on it and the  Account Registration form will load on your Screen.

Email is optional but Phone Number is mandatory

A User Login Page will load with an entry field for Activation Code

You will receive your activation code via the phone number used to register. Hence, you must have the phone close to you or accessible

You are now a registered user on Huduma Kenya

After registering on the website, the following steps will help you get an appointment to an Huduma centre of your choice

Log in to the Huduma centre website here

Once you have logged in using your ID Number and Password, you will be on the appointment page

New Appointment Button is in red, whereas a green button labelled “My Appointments’ enables you to view history of past appointments booked.

Some details will be preloaded on the Left Side of the form.

On the right, select nearest Huduma Centre under Service Centre

A drop-down menu Under Service will appear with all available Huduma Centre Services

Once the service is Selected, Appointment Time and Date fields will be active for you to select the available Timeslots

A ticket will be auto-generated and displayed on your screen. It will contain your ticket number, the service needed, the center you will visit, your name, the date of booking, and the date the ticket was issued.

You will then Save the Appointment

You will receive an SMS confirming your booking and a request to print the booking slip

Ensure you visit the selected Huduma Centre selected at the date and time of your appointment. Carry the booking slip and don’t delete the SMS sent to you.

This because you will be required to present the booking slip or show the text message.

Alternatively, Kenyans are advised to call or SMS their inquiries on the phone number, 0206900020, which will be received by a Customer Relations Officer.

The Ministry also warned that only those who had booked their appointments will be allowed to GPO Huduma Centres.

Huduma Centre is a government initiative which is aimed at providing citizens with access to public services in a convenient, efficient and transparent manner.

The first Huduma Centre was launched in 2013 in Nairobi, and since then, over 50 centres have been established across the country.

At Huduma Centres, citizens can access a wide range of services, including:

* Access to Government Procurement Opportunities (AGPO) certificate Application and collection of duplicate ID card

The Huduma Centre model has been praised for its effectiveness in improving access to public services in Kenya, and has even been replicated in other countries such as Uganda and Tanzania.
