Orange Kenya has unveiled a new service dubbed PEWA which allows Orange Kenya prepaid subscribers to purchase airtime on credit then pay later.

PEWA is currently available to subscribers who have less than KES 5 airtime on their phones and they can borrow airtime worth KES 15. Orange Kenya though stated that this amount will be reviewed upwards based on customers demand.

The airtime can be used for both on-net and off net calls, SMS, data and other Orange services such as subscription to Holla bundled offer.

Airtime purchased on credit will not attract an interest fee if it is paid back within 24 hours after purchase. The borrowed airtime will attract an additional 10 percent fee if it is repaid after 24 hours.
