Petrol Price Drops by KES 3.46 a Litre in Nairobi

Our pump price projections were almost accurate with our diesel price estimates narrowly missing the exact price by KES 0.07.

That aside, the price of super petrol has dropped by KES 3.46 to retail at KES 117.67 per litre in Nairobi. Diesel will retail at KES 105.51 per litre, down from KES 108.44 per litre while Kerosene will retail at KES 83.20 per litre, down from KES 87.00 per litre.

Drop in pump prices has been attributed to decrease in international crude oil prices. This mean exchange rate deteriorated marginally, by 1.8% to KES 84.74 per US $ in May 2012 compared to KES 83.24 per US $ in April 2012.

A drop in fuel prices is a sigh of relief as transportation costs will now decrease.
